Ok, so, I recently read a great book where a girl has a list of things to do before her 25th birthday. Things always seem so inspiring and life altering in books I decided I had to piggyback off her cliche and start a list of my own. Ya, I know it's trite, but for the sake of enhancing my savoir faire I thought I should give this a whirl. So, since I have already passed the lovely 25th milestone I made a list of 20 Things to do before I'm 30. This is my list as it stands this very moment:
1. Be a Rock star for a night
2. Go Snorkeling
3. Have an amazingly cliche "movie" kiss
4. Do a road trip
5. Buy a new violin and start playing again
6. Ride a crazy horse with no assistance
7. Get a new piercing
8. Take my mother to Graceland
9. Play hokey and go to the beach
10. Make a painting, frame it, hang it
11. Party at Coyote Ugly on the bar
12. Go dancing in the rain (major dancing, none of the foo foo stuff)
13. See a ballet or opera in person
14. Make a large donation
15. Be towed behind a boat
16. Learn to use a weapon
17. Volunteer for something important
18. Experience Weightlessness
19. Do something dangerous and/or that I'm scared of
20. Let someone love me without pushing them away
The beige colored numbers are the tasks I have completed. As you can see, I have a long way to go!

Found you through 20SB. I think that last one is really important. It's easy to love someone else, but to let them love us? Unconditionally? Without pushing them or pulling away? That's amazing.
Thanks for sharing your list. I hope to create one of my own!
they are cool!!! It's like a bucket list that is kicking the bucket of your 20s or something. Lol. I watched the film the other day an it's been like my reference material lol
I really like your list - I saw your forum question on 20SB and hesitated to write a list out because I get scared that if I never accomplish them, I failed. It's kind of like, if you ignore it, it's not there.
But I don't have to write things like, get married, buy a house, reach a certain role at work, etc. They can be feasible, but really important things too.
What do you think you will do to complete the - "do something you are scared of..." one?
Hey transienttravels! you should just do it, it really gives you a sense of control and accomplishment when you get to cross off one of the items. I just did things that I thought were actually doable, no finding enlightment in India or riding an elephant in africa. I thought this is my first list I'll keep it simple! lol!
I'm not sure what I'll do for the "do something I'm scared of". I went parasailing which I was terrified of, but I thought it would be cheating to cross of two items on my list with one activity. I figure I'll know it when it happens. Most important thing I've learned so far is live your life, not the list. If you don't finish it, just start a new one!
what are you going to do next on the list? I wonder what mine would have on it... (great blog, btw... we appear to be kindred spirits so I'll add you to my blog list)
I'm not sure what to do next, they were flowing fast, now i'm a little stuck... i think i'll try for the playing hookey or the road trip soon! Although, i was hoping for a spontaneous movie cliche kiss, but that seems to be put on hold with my limited male prospects! lol! (i totally agree, kindred, i have a picture of me chasing a duck too haha! You're so on my list)
